Montana stayed true to her wild nature this month and has kept us on our toes with changing water and weather conditions.  A late season snowpack combined with heavy rains caused rivers around the state to rise.  Here in Missoula we were fortunate to not have any significant flooding issues, and were able to adjust to the forecast and operate a high water program, and shift over to the Missouri River when needed.

The first day official day of summer has arrived today, and our extended weather forecast matches the season.  Calm temperatures are expected to help our rivers continue to drop and we are looking forward to the big bug bonanza that is just around the corner.  Salmonflies are on Rock Creek and the Blackfoot, with green drakes and pmds starting to appear on the Bitterroot.  Golden stones are queuing up and we are heading into some of the most prime large dry fly action of the season.  We have limited hotel and day trip packages available for the last week of the month, with more flexibility as we move into July.  Give us a call to plan your dry fly day on the water!
