ONE HUNDRED ACRES: Three Distinct Lodges

Solitude and World Class Dining

In 2004 we started looking for riverfront property to build a new fly fishing lodge. We wanted to find a location that offered our guests the diversity of multiple rivers in a single trip, short drive times, and water with low angling pressure.

After four years of scouring the Missoula area we found the perfect spot. Missoula River Lodge sits on one hundred acres with a mile of Clark Fork River frontage with a private boat ramp, located just fifteen minutes from Missoula International Airport (MSO). Centrally positioned to take advantage of quick access to the Bitterroot River, Clark Fork River, Blackfoot River, and Rock Creek. We prefer for you to spend your time, “On the water, not looking through a windshield”.

Find Your Happy Place

Trout Bluff

The Trout Bluff is perched on a high rock outcropping overlooking the Clark Fork River. Wildlife abounds throughout our property, and put on a frequent show for guests of the Bluff. Sip your morning coffee and watch osprey attempt to out fish bald eagles out the back door. Wade fishing is a short walk out the front door of the Trout Bluff. A large back eddy sits just below your lodging, harboring adult rainbow trout that will test your mettle. A well presented dry fly in the evenings puts a perfect finish on a day, with a cartwheeling trout rewarding angler’s efforts. It’s a great scene with or without a fly rod in your hand.

The rooms are spacious, well appointed, quiet, and best suited for six to eight anglers of the same group. We do not split accommodations amongst different groups, therefore we limit the use of Trout Bluff to six or more guests. The great room is the space for relaxing; look out over the river or turn inward to catch a game on our large satellite TV system. Wireless internet is complimentary at our lodge.

The combination of proximity to great fishing along with modern amenities ensure that all areas of your experience is excellent.

River Front Lodge

River Front is located at the southwest end of our property and enjoys expansive views of the Clark Fork River. Solitude is at a premium and the wildlife that call the spring fed mouth of Six Mile Creek home are your only neighbors.

Wade fishing is a stone’s throw south from the large, comfortable deck overlooking the river. The bay harbors primarily adult rainbows with the occasional giant brown haunting the entrance of Six Mile Creek.

Rooms are expansive and all enjoy river or mountain views. Comprised of three bedrooms, with four queen beds, we generally adhere to a three guest maximum to ensure each guest receives single room accommodations. Wi-fi for all rooms is standard and full work office solutions are available.

River Front is separated from the Trout Bluff and Rhino Cove by a half mile driveway along Six Mile Creek. Some guests prefer to walk to and from our dining facility. For guests that prefer a pickup, our staff will happily provide pickup and drop-off for daily fly fishing activities and meals.

One of many perks when staying at Riverfront is sunrise over the Clark Fork River. The mature timber stands of the Rocky Mountains cut the morning rays into daily shards of light that welcome our fly fishing guests experience the tranquil West.

Rhino Cove

Rhino Cove is the heart of our lodge complex, and favors the social angler who wants to be in center of the fly fishing action. The dual level split consists of an upper level with four separate bedrooms spread over two suites, and a lower level featuring a common lounge area, kitchen, and dining room. The two bedrooms per suite share a bathroom. The spacious back patio overlooking the lower meadow is the perfect spot to trade fishing tales from the day. While you are outside in the summer twilight you may want to take advantage of great fly fishing just a five minute walk away through the meadow. There is a maximum four person occupancy, wireless internet, and HD Satellite TV. Many of our morning meetings center around the outside of Rhino Cove, due to its location on the property. If you are the type of angler who enjoys having your finger on the pulse of our local fishing, and being in the guide scene Rhino Cove is the perfect fit.
