YOUR FLY FISHING LODGE
Missoula River Lodge– Solitude and World Class Dining
In 2004 we started looking for riverfront property to build a new type of Montana Fly Fishing Lodge. We wanted to find a location that offered our guests the diversity of multiple Montana rivers in a single trip with short drive times to water that has empty boat ramps and a lack of angling pressure.
After four years of scouring Western Montana we found the perfect oasis to build our luxury Montana Fly Fishing Lodge. Missoula River Lodge sits on one hundred acres with a mile of Clark Fork River frontage with a private boat ramp, located just fifteen minutes from Missoula International Airport (MSO). It is located perfectly central to take advantage of quick fly fishing access to the Bitterroot River, Clark Fork River, Blackfoot River, and Rock Creek. We prefer for you to spend your time “On the water not the windshield”.

Awarded Top 100 Chef in America
Our executive chef Carrie Nowlen was recognized by the Washington Post’s Food Editor, Joe Yonan, as one of the top 100 chefs in America. Carrie creates our unique dining experience nightly at our Fishing Lodge. Her menu is described as a “Global Fusion” that comes from a wide sourcing of farm to table local ingredients and diverse cultural influences. Carrie works with local Missoula Wine Merchants sommelier to hand select wine pairings for each meal. Our fishing is great, but for many of our regular guests our dining experience is a true Montana highlight.

Montana Fly Fishing – Quiet, Uncrowded, and Unkown
Half of our fishing days our guests will not see another angler. The other half will only see a boat or two. The private and quiet Montana fly fishing trip is what we strive to provide for our guests. It’s why we own a private boat ramp on the Clark Fork River and the most commercially limited float permit on Rock Creek. We understand that zero deep at private boat ramp taking your time trumps the “Morning River Rush”. Missoula Montana is still being discovered and we want to share that with you.

The Lodges
Montana Fly Fishing Lodge
Trout Bluff
We designed and built The Trout Bluff Montana Fly Fishing Lodge to be the welcoming hand shake to a great fly fishing trip.
The Trout Bluff Lodge is perched on a high rock bluff over Montana’s Clark Fork River a stone’s throw away from our private fly fishing drift boat launch. This Rock survived a millennia of epic lake Missoula breaks of the massive pre-historic ice dam the defines our western Montana geology. The bedrock of this build site provided many a challenge in its excavation when we built it in 2008, however it also assured we would root our Montana fly fishing Lodge in enduring strength.
The Clark Fork river is the only neighbor on our private end of the road 120 acre Montana Fly Fishing Lodge guest ranch. Wildlife abounds throughout our property along with over a mile of private wade fly fishing. Home pool is a short walk from the back deck of the Trout Bluff Montana Fly Fishing Lodge. That large Montana fly fishing back eddy harbors adult rainbows that will test your mettle, yet still eat a well presented dry fly in the evenings. It’s a great Montana soaking scene with or without a fly rod in your hand.
Single luxury rooms are standard and no extra charge at the The Trout Bluff Montana Fly Fishing Lodge. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, quiet, and fit perfectly groups of 4- 6 anglers of the same group. The great room is the space for relaxing; look out over the river to catch nature’s drama or turn inward to catch a game on our large satellite TV system. Wireless internet is also complimentary at our Montana Fly Fishing Lodge.
The combination of proximity to great fishing on the Clark Fork River, Bitterroot River, Blackfoot River and Rock Creek along with modern Montana fly fishing lodge amenities ensure that all areas of your Montana fly fishing lodge experience is excellent.

River Front Lodge
The Riverfront is a Boutique Montana Fly Fishing Lodge located at the west end of our property and enjoys expansive views of the Clark Fork River near Missoula Montana. Privacy is at a premium and the wildlife that calls the spring fed mouth of six mile creek’s entrance to the Clark Fork River home is a constant reminder of a truly boutique sporting property.
Wade fly fishing is a stone’s throw from the large comfortable deck overlooking the river. This is a part of the Clark Fork River in Montana where it channelizes allowing excellent wade fishing access. The Clark Fork in front of our Boutique Fly Fishing Lodge harbors mainly adult rainbows with the occasional giant brown haunting the entrance of Six Mile Creek.
Luxury boutique lodge rooms are expansive and all enjoy riverfront views. This boutique Montana Fly Fishing Lodge is a three bedroom facility with four queen beds. Generally we adhere to a 3 guest maximum at the Riverfront Lodge to ensure each guest receives single room accommodations.
The Riverfront is separated from the Trout Bluff and Rhino Cove by a very private half mile driveway along the Clark Fork River. Some guests prefer to walk to and from our dining facility. For fly fishing guests that prefer a pickup, our staff will provide pickup and drop-off for daily fly fishing activities and meals.
My favorite feature of this boutique Montana Fly Fishing Lodge is the sunrises over the Clark Fork River. The mature timber stands of the Rocky Mountains near Missoula cut the morning rays into daily shards of light that welcomes our fly fishing guests daily into a river world filled with wildlife and trout.
Wi-fi for all rooms is standard and full work office solutions are available.
We would love to share this Boutique Montana Fly Fishing lodge with you.
